Carey Fruth, a photographer based in San Francisco, captured images of women with diverse body types posed on enchanting flower beds for her photography series called “American Beauty.” The objective of this series was to redefine the notion of “beauty” in the United States. Fruth drew inspiration from a scene in the 1999 film of the same name, featuring Kevin Spacey daydreaming about one of his daughter’s friends in a suggestive manner.
In an interview with Huffpost, Fruth explained, “By entering into a fantasy dream girl world and by letting go of that anxiety, they free themselves up to direct that energy they once wasted on telling themselves that they weren’t good enough to other areas of their life,”
